So, just now I was looking at the Black Friday ads online and wondering if shopping online will be as exciting as actually getting up at 4am and hitting the stores with Andrea. (I've decided it's definitely not). Jason is happy because the local channel NASN (North American Sports Network) is playing the Lions game live. He and the kids are watching the game while I'm here on the computer. I'm having a fun time eavesdropping on their conversation.
Jason- "Oh no! Typical, the Lions just fumbled"
Aidan- "What's fumble?"
Jason-"See how the guy dropped the ball? Now anyone can take it."
Lainey-"That's not fair. He shouldn't take someone else's toy."
Jason-"Well, in football it's okay. If one guy drops it, another one is allowed to take it."
Lainey-"That's not nice. It's not his ball."
Jason-"Football isn't a nice sport. It's kind of rough."
Lainey-"They should share. Friends should take turns"
Jason-"They aren't friends they're opponents"
Aidan-"Opponents are people who fight each other."
Lainey-"Fighting is not okay. They shouldn't fight."
Jason-"Opponents don't really fight, they just play against each other, not together."
Lainey-"I would share the ball. I don't want someone to take my ball."
Jason-"In football that's how the game is played. Both teams try to get a touchdown."
Lainey- "What's a touchdown?"
You can see where this is going....Anyone ever read If You Give a Pig a Pancake or If You Give a Moose a Muffin? I see where Laura Numeroff got her inspiration! She must have had a 3-year-old!
Happy Turkey and Football Day Everyone!!!!
