OK, I've finally had to realize that my "baby" is no longer a baby. We went to check out the Gymboree in Zumikon yesterday to find out what their programs are for Lainey once Aidan starts school. We walked in and it was a blast from the past! I immediately flashed back to Aidan as a baby crawling through all the obstacles. I looked back at him and saw a little boy, not that chubby baby who couldn't even walk or talk the last time we were at a Gymboree. It made me a little sad. Sometimes I really miss that baby who didn't talk back and test his limits and run all over the house!
Anyway, I was really happy to find the Gymboree. It's just like the one back home used to be and they'll even honor my US registration, so I don't have to pay the extra fee! As a further bonus, all but a few classes are in English with American or English or Aussie instructors. They offer more classes than the old one did, too. The really cool thing is that they have drop off classes for Music and Art and there's a "school readiness" class that meets for 2 or 3 hours 3 days a week. I think that in the New Year, I'll have Lainey do that so I can have a few hours to myself. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the other preschools around for her age! When Aidan starts school, I'll sign up for the regular play class with her once a week. With that membership we can also go to all the open play times and there's at least one hour everyday for that. I think that's a pretty good deal! They let the kids play for a half-hour yesterday and Lainey LOVED it. Especially the mini-trampoline. I think I definitely need to look into getting her one for her birthday.
It still seems funny that I had to move half way around the world to do Gymboree with Lainey!

That is so great that there is Gymboree for you and sounds like there are some great classes. When we were in Louisville when Julia was a baby, Gymboree saved my sanity. I knew practically nobody and it was nice to have a place to go and meet other moms. I mean, Kentucky/Switzerland...same diff - can't understand people and they have different customs :-)
I knew you'd love blogging...like me, you have a lot to say!
